FINALLY!

I hate to say it but I have been procrastinating! I have said ever since I got pregnant with Ashlyn that I was going to start a blog! Well we are a few weeks past Ashlyn’s first birthday and here I am FINALLY getting around to our blog! It seems life is going by too quickly these days!  The last year seems to have gone by the fastest, and also the most has happened! This first post I will just update everyone on where Trevor, Ashlyn and I are in our lives right now! You can expect our blog to be full of everything from top to bottom. Everything that makes you laugh and cry! I hope you guys enjoy it I know I LOVE reading my friends and families blogs!

I will start with where Trevor is at right now! Trevor has made the brave decision to join the Army National Guard in defense of our country and of our family. The military so far has been a wonderful choice for our family and is NOT AT ALL what I thought it would be! Everyone has been so helpful to us and I am thankful for them all! Trevor is in South Carolina right now (had a warmer winter than we did in Colorado!) and it completing his Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson. He is literally days from graduating and Ashlyn, Shalia (Trevor’s Mom) and I are going to see his graduation and then see him off from Fort Jackson to Fort Leonard Wood, MO where he has only 8 more weeks! After that Trevor will be home with us! We are so excited to have him home and I don’t think there’s a family more proud in the world! When he comes home he will get back on path at Mesa State College to become a nurse anesthetist.

I (Brittany) am much more boring than Trevor! I work at Quality Electrical Distributors as an Office Manager and in the fall will be back at school to continue my education. I am hoping to receive my degree in English and would love to teach it someday! Other than that I LOVE LOVE LOVE being a mommy and a military wife. I also serve a calling at Church as the Activity Days leader (8-9 year old girls) which was challenging for me at first because I had a hard time clicking with the age group and I slowly but surely am learning more about the beautiful girls I get to help lead and love my calling also! I am by far the luckiest woman in the world!

Now on to EVERYBODY’S favorite! ASHLYN GRACE! Ashlyn is the light of mine and Trevor’s life. She is a beautiful girl who is full of life and she is learning at a pace I am desperately trying to catch up with! She just turned a year…(oh my gosh a whole year already!) on January 29. She is so smart! She points out her nose and gives the best kisses ever! She has 6 teeth and I think number 7 and 8 will come through any second now. She crawls faster than I can run and stands on her own completely. She takes one and two steps at a time but doesn’t seem to care to try to go any further! She will get going when she is ready J Here is a list of the words she loves to say:

It is so fun to watch her learn and grow! Everyone always told me when I was pregnant “cherish every moment because it goes by FAST” and boy they weren’t kidding! I look forward to watching her develop and am sooo happy for her!
